Lara is a writer/ director from Devon, and a graduate of BA Film Practice at the University of the Arts London and a BFI New Voices Scheme 2024 participant. Her work centres on grounded, character-led stories, often from regional perspectives, with a focus on underrepresented voices and emotionally honest storytelling. Her short film Christmas, 1978 screened at festivals including the BFI-backed Sunrise, Romford, Rainbow, and One Fluid Night, and was shortlisted for the Cornwall Film Festival. She is currently working on a new short, Kitty Jay, which re-imagines a Dartmoor legend. She has been selected for the Channel 4 New Writers scheme 2025/2026.
